SMS Notifications on Bookendo

How SMS opt-in works, what messages we send, and how to stop or get help.

SMS is optional and is never required to use Bookendo. Email and in-app push notifications are the primary channels for appointment reminders, booking confirmations, and account notifications. SMS is offered as an additional copy of those notifications when you choose to opt in.

How opt-in works

You opt in to SMS notifications at the moment you book an appointment with a business on Bookendo. The opt-in is contextual to that booking and that business:

You visit a business page on Bookendo (for example, bookendo.com/b/dpm) and start a booking.
On the booking details step, you provide your name, email, and phone number.
You see two unchecked checkboxes. The first asks if you want SMS appointment reminders and confirmations from that business via Bookendo. The second is a separate, independent checkbox for promotional SMS from that business.
You complete and confirm the booking. Only the boxes you check apply.

If you do not check the SMS box, you will continue to receive all essential service communications via email and in-app push notifications. SMS is never sent without an explicit, granular opt-in.

What messages you may receive

If you opt in to appointment reminders and confirmations, Bookendo may send SMS messages such as:

Booking confirmations after an appointment is created.
Reminders 24 hours before your appointment.
Account notifications related to a booking with a business you have engaged with on Bookendo.

Message frequency: typically 1 to 4 messages per booking. Message and data rates may apply. SMS is sent by Bookendo on behalf of the business you booked with.

Stop or get help at any time

STOPReply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive a confirmation and no further SMS will be sent.

Your privacy

We do not sell, share, or transfer mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data to third parties for marketing purposes. SMS consent is not shared with affiliates or external marketing partners. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
